Check out the action in Northwestern Ontario’s Dinorwic Lake, Manitoba’s huge Cedar Lake and northern Alberta’s boreal forest
Lying west of Grand Rapids, Manitoba, Cedar Lake was formed in 1968 when a hydroelectric dam was constructed on the Saskatchewan River. Today, the 1,400-square-kilometre reservoir is full of walleye, northern pike, whitefish and burbot—a fresh cisco on a quick-strike rig is the ticket for winter trophies. Moak Lodge makes for a good local base of operations.
