The walleye bite is on fire these days, with the fish consuming as much as five per cent of their body weight daily. And when you find a school of walleye bunched up and concentrated in one small area, a lead-headed jig is the way to go. As a matter of fact, more walleye over the years have undoubtedly been caught on jigs tipped with live or soft plastic baits than all other presentations combined.

Not surprisingly, one of the most frequent questions I get asked by walleye anglers is whether you should pick a slightly lighter or heavier head for the job.  Which is the best way to go?  Think about it for a second and then ask yourself would you pick a lighter or heavier head?
